very unprofessional to say the least. can not ever reach him on the phone and barely responds to emails. was fast to take my money and slow to do as he told me he would. Took my initial payment. took him 3 months to get me a simple custody agreement wrote up. Finally receive the custody agreement, get it signed and he withdrawals from my case and never turned the custody agreement into the court. Took my money and did absolutely nothing but give me the run around. Filed a complaint with the MO bar. Im not sure if he is still out there screwing people over, but if you ever find yourself needing a lawyer, DO NOT USE THIS GUY! the only reason he gets one star is because google makes you click at least one star.
Hello my name is Tim Myers Scott Hinote helped me with a custody case he has gone above and beyond to help me see my daughter he is still taking care of little things that pop up even after court I would highly recommend him.
I paid scott upfront $3,200 cash for a custody case of mine. He told me it could take awhile with most custody cases and to be patient and let him do his job. When he finally did send me the paperwork to sign it had the wrong kids name on it. I left several messages on his voicemail because he never answered any of my calls. I was finally able to reach him through email but by then he told me he was no longer my lawyer and my case was thrown out. Now im raising my son alone with no help from him. I've had to go through the state because after he took my money i couldn't afford to hire another lawyer and to be honest after him I'll never in my life trust another lawyer. He has now suggested that I contact another lawyer hes friends with because he no longer handles family cases... Which is odd.. Thats explains why mine never got handled. And there is no refund either because hes a lawyer and he'll just drag this out in court until im out more money. I pray that nobody ever has the same experience i had with this lawyer. I was told he was the best so I was so excited when I hired him. It was the most costly and upsetting mistake of my life. I wish I never trusted Scott Hinote with my money or my case. I paid him in full after our first visit i never did him wrong. I have no idea how this guy sleeps at night knowing hes robbed hard working single fathers just trying to finalize my custody. I'm sure their are good lawyers out there that care about their clients but this isn't one of them.
I retained Mr. Hinote to assist me with obtaining guardianship of my grandchild. I paid him $1600.00 up front and waited for follow up. After over a month, I tried to contact him. I left voice mails, sent emails,and never received the courtesy of a response. Shortly afterward, I received information from another attorney , and found that I would not need Mr Hinote's services. Once again, I tried for weeks to get a response from him. I finally got him to respond to a Facebook post and he stated he would refund my unused funds in a consumer acceptable time frame. That was in August, and I have not heard anything else from him. The entire communications that I have received from Mr. Hinote, since I retained his services, would not equal more than a few sentences. He has also blocked me from his Facebook account, so the only link I had to possibly get him to respond, has been shut down . I filed a complaint to the BBB, and he did not respond to them either. Please do your research before reaching out to Mr. Hinote for legal assistance . The Office of Chief Disciplinary Counsel is also investigating him. As far as I am aware, he did nothing on my behalf; however, Scott Hinote has had no problem holding onto the money that I paid to him in good faith, as a representative of our legal system.
