3 years working here with more to come !
The truth about this facility: nurses are great. CNA's are awesome. Most office staff, pretty good. However, they cannot keep nurses or med techs. Most CNA's leave too. The reason they stay is because they absolutely adore the residents. But the bullying and unprofessionalism from the administrator eventually gets to be too much and people leave. She does not care about the residents (I'm willing to bet she can't name a single condition on any of them). She certainly does not care about the staff. She uses intimidation to lead and blames everyone else for poor state survey results. The director of nursing is an immature 22 year old who's more worried about his looks and making sure everyone knows he's the DON than patient care. Administration as a whole takes an average of 10-15 smoke breaks per day. The owner of the facility is a very sweet man who cannot possibly be aware of how his facility is truly being run. The most recent state survey is not online yet, but it is not good. There is a recent history of cockroaches, several family complaints to state regarding the maintenance of the facility i.e. Horrid smells and refusal to turn on the AC when it was 85+ in the facility. Administration has been overheard talking about their facility-paid weekly dinners that include margaritas but yet there's no money in the budget for a new hoyer. One of the nurses in administration is on probation for involvement in a cocaine operation. Children of administration are allowed to work and get away with anything including leaving when they want and not report falls. This place needs to be shut down or taken over by a more competent administration. It has the potential to be the good facility it once was. Until then, I wouldn't recommend putting your family here. It's too much of a risk.
worst place i have ever worked for. i was working night shift caring for over 40 people by myself and then forced to stay after my shift without being paid to feed residents breakfast. i wouldn't have minded so much if it was a part of my scheduled shift, but after walking and lifting for 8 hours straight i was ready to just go home! absolutely no problems neglecting resident needs. needs smaller work load, new machinery, new beds, new staff and a few bug bombs as well. 5 minutes of care per resident shouldn't be all i have to give. everyone deserves the care they are paying for. Also i would hope in the future they could understand 9 dollars an hour after 4 years experience wiping ass, being consistently happy loving and empathetic, lifting dead weight human beings and getting slapped kicked and hit when your trying to help and not being able to sit down for 8 hours straight is just not worth anyone's time. god knows the state of Missouri is paying y'all at least 20 per hour per aide and you still cant manage to give the people doing your dirty work half of what your paid for them? this facility is a joke. point blank
moved a relative in the facility today
staff very helpful large room hoping for the best
